About Livia

First of all, thank you for visiting my website and checking out my online store. It has always been a dream of mine to create my own product line that is freshly made with ingredients that are natural, pure and healing for the skin.

I  was born in former Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Canada 20 plus years ago.

I grew up in a family where my mother and grandmother were self-taught herbalists. I remember my grandmother Rozalia telling me about magical stinging nettle plant and how it helps her arthritis. She would always look for a small patch of this prolific plant  that would magically relieve her of arthritic pain. My mom rarely used pharmaceuticals for ailments such as common cold or flu, yet my sister and I would rarely fall ill. However, when we did get a cold or flu, common treatment was heated oil and raw onion applied onto a piece of cloth and put on the chest. So soothing and also curative for the consequent rattling in the chest associated with these ailments. Stories like this are plenty. Plant medicine was definitely a permanent staple in our household and have shaped me into who I am today.

After finishing nursing school in Slovakia I later acquired another nursing license here in Canada. I fell in love with operating rooms and heart surgery which is what I specialized in for many years.

Somewhere in the middle of my nursing career I became very interested in classical homeopathy. Consequently, I enrolled in a four year program  and received my diploma after graduating in 2011, becoming a certified Classical Homeopath. I still practice this incredible form of energy medicine in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

After four years of recent studies, I finally obtained certification from Rita Hogan’s canine herbal mentorship program. I’ve been studying herbs that I can then use in animals (or humans) when their ecosystems are out of balance. Learning about individual energetics, different constituents in plants, different herbal formulas etc. has been a humbling experience and another piece of puzzle that fell into right place.

Natural skin care making was just another complementary piece to my holistic inclinations and I became to love it as I felt it stimulating my creative side.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

‘When your eyes are tired,
the world is tired also.

When your vision has gone,
no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.

There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.

The dark will be your home
tonight.

Close up of sprouts

The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.

You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.

Give up all your worlds
except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive

it is too small for you.’
